Do you have a check engine light?

Have the exhaust system checked for restriction-also have the EGR, MAP and TPS checked to include a fuel pressure

A fault with any sensors on the engine management system would trigger the Check Engine Light (CEL) or Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL).

Ensure that the MIL comes on when ignition switch is turned on and goes off after a few swcobnds when engine is started.

If MIL does not come on when ignition switch is turned on, you have a fault with it and need to find out why it is not showing.

When I turn on my jeep the check engine does turn on and a few seconds later it turns off I still have connected the obd2 scanner and no codes have appeared. I try it everytime my truck turns off and no codes thats why I dont think its a sensor because once it sends the code the computer it will stay on until you erase it.

For such conditions, it is not going to be easy to diagnose.

If the engine stalls when you cometo a stop, that could be due to excessively low idling speed and that could be due to a dirty throttle body and/or IAC. Have tham cleaned and retest.

Have you checked the spark plugs and ignition coils?

Yes I just replaced the spark plugs and cleaned out the throttle body completely. The truck doesnt turn off every day its completely ramdom usually wen I turn it on and just put it in gearand drive then itll shut off at the first stop sign or when I bring down the rpms down under 2000rpms. Now that its cold I have to let it warm up a few min so I havent had the issue recently.

Seems to be a problem with the cold start and idle control.

Did you clean the IAC?

I had a problem like this with my 2007 grand Cherokee 3.7 I was stranded at a rest stop for 2 days in NE. Tried everything and had it towed to a garage all to find out that there was a sensor inside the transmission that was bad and he took the negative post off the battery for a few minutes reset the codes and drove it. I drove it back from NE to NY without a problem and was still driving it until I loaned it to my brother and he blew the motor now I'm trying to find out how much it would cost to get a new motor and how much to put it in I love my jeep

Yep jeeps are great cars. I would try to get a factory rebuilt unit they cost a more but are well worth it. Parts and labor should cost between $3500 and $4500

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken
