Transmission not shifting gears properly?

It does not change gears easily at times have to release the acceleration pedal for it to change.

Also, this is clearly an issue with the transmission so here is a guide that will get us started:

This could be an issue with one of two things. First it could be an issue with the valve body not allowing the transmission to shift.

However, I suspect this is an issue with the fluid level or condition. The fact that you let off the accelerator to get it to shift points to the fluid first. It could be a sensor issue but I have seen this a number of times and the fluid is low and requires changing. So let's start with that and then retest the operation.
