I am trying to replace the fuel pump. The new one looks exactly like the old one, but it sticks up above the top of the tank. When side by side the two fuel pumps are same size. Is there a secret to getting the new pump to sit properly?

Hello,

There is no special trick to get the new pump installed.
Make sure that the float is not somehow getting stuck at the bottom of the pump.

Also, have you tried to put back the old pump in again, just to see if it will go in flush?

How much does it stick out?

Let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
