No and yes. The car ran better yesterday for over an hour. Today, it would turn over but not crank. At first it seemed like it wasn't getting enough gas, which is why I changed the fuel pump. Then after it quit, it wasn't getting any fire.

Again, did you replace the coils?

When it does not start, can you hear the fuel pump run?

That is what is making this so frustrating! I have never had a problem like this, but of course, I am used to the older cars.

Got it.

When it will not start, do you have power to the ignition module?

I was told it could have something to do with the security system. What do you think?

That is where I was heading but it should not ever shut the car off once it is running.

I am still stuck in my mind the ignition switch is not or has stopped giving power. That is why I asked you to check for power to the module.

I'm sorry, but this car is at my dad's, so I will check it tomorrow. Is there anything else you can think of to check?

One step at a time. Remember, check it after it shuts off.

Okay, only if we can get it to start, it wouldn't start today (no fire) but hopefully it will tomorrow!

No, you check it when it will not start. If it starts, it will have power. You need to test it when it will not start.
