Fuel pump will not shut off when you turn off key and fuel starts to load up at steady speeds. I tried another ignition and another relay and checked wires going to tank. The pump pumps even with the relay out, only stops by removing battery cable. I also put new grounds to frame, firewall, and engine.

Hey JANE DAVIS,

There is an oil pressure switch that can cause the fuel pump to run continuously.

On your engine it is situated down behind the distributor.

There is a picture below.

Try unplugging this, if the fuel pump stops you will need to replace the switch.

Hope this helps.

Hey JANE DAVIS,

The plug for this will have three wires tan, orange and grey.

This may help you identify the connector I am talking about.
