When I driving for a good 10 minutes its starts making noise. I can first feel it in the steering wheel. When I get off the highway and I take my foot off the gas and coast it gets louder and then when I am going about 5 mph it goes away. I came to a complete stop then start again it goes away for awhile. When it doesn't go away I put the 4x4 on and then off and it doesn't make the noise then? What do I do?

Welcome to 2CarPros.

Can you describe the sound or even record it with your phone and upload it for me to hear? That would be helpful.

My concern is that you first feel it in the steering. Does the steering shake, vibrate, or how would you describe it?

Have you checked the fluid in the front differential? Have you checked for play in a universal joint or axle joint?

One other thing, is there anything that seems to make it worse or prompt it to happen other than letting off the gas? For example, does it happen when you press the brake?

Let me know.
