I have an '06 Taurus 3.0L. When I come to a stop the engine idle sticks at 1100-1400 rpm then after 3-10 seconds will abruptly drop to normal idle 600-700 rpm. On rare occasions when it drops the engine will stall. The sticking high idle seems to be most consistant/repeatable during cooler/cold weather but it will also do it during warm weather just not as frequently. It happens when the engine is at cold and hot operating temperature.
I have had it to the Ford dealer twice for this and they said there are no fault codes that come up and it doesn't happen long enough for them to diagnose.
have the same problem?
