Transmission problem
2000 Ford Taurus Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I parked my Taurus approx. 2 weeks ago because I bought a new car. Today I moved it back and forth a few feet to make room on the driveway. Approx. 2 hours later we noticed a large, reddish oily leak stain, coming from under the vehicle. The car shifted fine prior (and still does). Can't locate where it's coming from, or even what it is. A prospective buyer noticed the leak actually (yikes). Is this transmission fluid or maybe brake fluid? Why will it show up after standing for a while, and now no more leak? Any input would be appreciated.

The pink color indicates that it is either transmission or power steering fluid. Check levels of both. Look under the car around the transmission oil pan for any signs of oil leakage. It is probably a transmission pan gasket.

Thank you, I will check what you have suggested. I already checked the transm. Fluid level and it seemed perfectly fine. Will check power steering as well. I also cannot locate any more leakage now, hours later. Will post with results.
