1999 Ford Taurus low coolant

My low coolant light in my taurus came on and I went to get some coolant I filled it up and the light woulnt turn off is it a bad sensor if so where or do I have a biger problem

Hi there,

i would say it is a faulty sensor, some of these sensors are a pivot type that move with the coolant level, if your is this type, it may free up after a drive, if not have it replaced.
