1997 Ford Taurus 91 octane for an sho

I know this is a stupid question but here goes my ford taurus sho calls for 91 octane gold premium if I was going to the shell gas bar for ex. Would it hurt the engine if I put in 87 bronze in it?Just curious

You will get poorer performance and less MPG's with the lower grade fuel, it will cost you more in the long stick with the 91 or better.
