where is the intake runner control located and how do I go about changing it?

It is located on the left side of the engine mounted on the valve cover. Here is a picture. I hope it is big enough for you to see. It is number 18 on the picture. It unbolts and isn't that difficult to replace. Also, the only V6 that has the runner control is the 3.0L 4V.

It did help somewhat but this is on a v8 sho motor. My obdII tester says it is the runner for bank 1. Would that put it behind the motor, closer to the firewall? Thanks again for the help.

It's the same place. If you are standing in front of the car, it is on the valve cover (center). Here is a picture of the SHO 3.4L V6. The runner control is number 20. I hope you can see it in the picture.
