1995 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 116K miles

My car will not start. I have replaced the battery and when I try to start my car the lights do not dim. I have been told its the cylanoid but I am not sure. Can you please help. If it is the cylanoid how do I change this?

It could be the solenoid. On the newer cars, the solenoid is part of the starter. What you need to do to confirm the starter / solenoid is bad is this. Have a helper turn the key to the start position while you check for power to the smaller wire on the starter. IF you are getting power, then chances are you will be replacing the starter. If there is no power, then you need to check the starter relay. Let me know what you find so I can further direct you.
