1996 Ford Ranger catalytic coverters

My 96 ranger was fialed smog in CA, it was diagnosed that the cats were bad and also had the EGR code on the check engine light. Magna flow sells universal fit cats but the collecter from both headers is oval and adapts straight to the original cats. Ford no longer make direct replacments and either does anyone else. Ford also couldnt find any leftovers in stock anywere. Do I have to change the exshaust from the manifolds down or does any one make an adapter.

No adapters made as far as I know. Since the cash for clunkers has come and gone, I would call salvage yards to see if you can find a good used one. Otherwise, you will need to have them fabricated.
