I have a 1989 for festiva with aprox 169,000 miles and it is a standard not sure aboiut the engine size but what I do know is that when I put the clutch in she makes a noise like you put a piece of paper in a fan and it will continue making that noise until I take the clutch out and my concern was maybe she needed clutch fluid but I am not sure where under the hood I am supposed to put that, I looked under the hood and there didn't seem to be anyplace to put clutch fluid and some one told me that my car didn't need it because it was a synchronized clutch
and I don't know the repair history on her she was donated to me last week. I appreciate your help and thank you.

I have not put a clutch in my festiva but I can tell you on my 1988 the fluid goes in where the speedometer cable hooks into the transmission. You about have to get under the car and it is on the rear side of the engine and on the drivers side. The cable goes in the trans from the top. When you take it loose the speedo gear also comes out. This section has a mark on it like a dip stick. You pour the fluid in and check it by reinstalling the speedo gear and shaft and then taking it back out to check. My 88 4 speed take automatic trans fluid. Hope that helps
