I have a 1990 Ford F350 diesel pickup. When I turn the key to start the engine all that happens are clicks.I have had the batteries test-ok. The starter tested-ok. The starter relay was replaced-still nothing.I've put on new battery cables-still hearing clicks. The clicking is coming from the starter relay and the starter solniad. Need some help with this problem.
Can the engine be turned over by hand?
I'm not sure what you mean by turn over by hand.I can pull start the truck and the engine wii start. Another test that I've done was to put a jumper wire from the positive battery cable to the starter relaytop post-still clicks. Any Help will be GREAT

Engine can't be locked up if you can get it to catch in gear.
I'm betting on a bad solenoid.

Send me an email and I will send you a troubleshooting diagram.

Good luck and let us know. : )
