1999 Ford F-150 Heat takes a log time

I have a 99 f-150 5.4lt. 4x4. When I start the truck and turn the heat on the truck gets up to temp. It takes about 1/2 an hour for the vents to start blowing warm air then it seems to work fine. Any idea why it would take so long? The anti freeze was flushed last year and is filled to the cold full range on the radiator.

Is the engine warming up in a normal amount of time? Also, when the engine is warm and you have no heat, with the engine running, heater on high (when no heat is coming out) are both heater core hoses hot?

Yes, Both the heater hoses are warm but not hot until the heat finally gets warm. The engine warms up in a normal amount of time

I recommend first, try to flush the heater core itself. If that doesn't help, then my next recommendation is to have the blend door checked. THe blend door determines if you get AC or heat to the inside. If it is sticking or not working correctly, it may be stopping the heat from entering. It is located near the heater core itself.
