Hi,

I have an F150 pickup with two fuel tanks. There's a switch on the dash that is supposed to switch between these tanks. However when I switch to the front tank the engine dies almost immediately. Switching back gets her going again. I have no idea how this system works or what the problem could be. Do You? Are there two fuel pumps and one's dead? Or is there a diverting valve somewhere that's stuck?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is a pump in each tank. First thing to do is check to see if you are getting voltage to that pump with the switch on the front tank and the terminal for the pump grounded but I have seent he fuel tank switching valve go out as well.
