I have a froze up water pump on the above truck. The engine is either a 4.2 or I think maybe a 4.7 litre engine. The vehicle has power steering and AC. How much equipment is going to need to be moved to replace the water pump?

Thank you.

Hello,

I am assuming you have the 4.9L inline 6-cylinder engine on this truck.

In order to replace the water pump, the serpentine belt needs to be removed as well as the coolant system needs to be drained.

Remember to only work on the cooling system when the engine is cool.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
