Wiring diagrams

How do you know where the connections are located when you see a symbol i.E. C136>>c137 on a wiring diagram? Do the numbers say anything about location such as engine, instrument panel, etc?

There is a chart in the manual that includes the wiring diagrams that gives locations of the connectors.
