1999 Ford Expedition 4 wheel drive will not disengage

Just today, my daughter turned the 4wd into 4 low by mistake. Now my car will not disengage. The switch has never had a problem before. In the winter time I often go into 4 hi and return to all wheel drive with no problem. What do you suggest?

I have a 99 Expedition too and this happened to me once. But, you'll be glad to know it is an EASY fix. I don't recall the exact procedure, but it is in your owner's manual. As I recall it's something like: You have to be stopped with the engine running, emergency brake on, transmission in Neutral and then turn the switch and it'll come out... Off the top of my head that's what I recall, BUT look in your owner's manual the procedure is there.
