I have a 1997 Ford Escort wagon. When you drive it it acts like it hesistates on acceleration. And when on the expressway it feels as if it is cutting out. On one occassion after driving it it would not start, I sprayed starter fluid in it and it started and has ever since. I notice when I remove the gas cap that it does not release any pressure. I am going to tune this vehicle up(maybe plug wires?). I have borrowed a master Mac Tool Fuel Injection tester but dont know what to hook it too to test the fuel pump pressure. Does this sound like a fuel pump problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Ever changed the fuel filter? Also some gaas line antifreeze in case of water in the fuel
stopped once in the mountains aat ny - pen border in rv, come to try it later it would not start
got it boosted after getting ice out of carberator , learned that in sc they dont use any gas line antifreeze in there fuell supply. Ps nearly froze to death not knowing that

CHECK TO SEE THAT THE FUEL PUMP PICKUP SCREEN IS SHORT, IF ITS TO LONG WHEN YOU TURN THE CORNER IT WILL LEAVE TO MUCH OF THE PICKUP SCREEN OUT IN THE AIR WITH ONLY 5 GAL OF GAS.
