These vehicles are notorious for having the crank sensor wiring damaged after the alternator has been replaced due to the proximity of the crank sensor harness to the alternator. Before any lengthy diagnostics I would inspect there.

My name is Steve, I was driving the Escape when it just shut off. It would turn over no problem. Anyway the Escape was bought as is so really he is not obligated to fix it, however he is trying to make it right. His mechanic has other cars to repair and I understand that. He is a good honest man and I am getting with him today to go over the options. I know hes bought sensors (2) yesterday and I will let him know ASAP. Thank you I will keep you informed on fix.

Update, after replacing crank, sensors coil packs, he towed it to a ford dealer to put it on their scope machine, it was determined the the computer had a hiccup and it damaged the the coil packs and computer. So they towed it back to their shop and Ford explained how to repair so it was only 1/3 of their cost and they told me late Monday if they can by then. This has been over a weak now and I am stranded so I hope for the best on Monday I will give the update then.
