2005 Ford Escape Vehicle stalls

My vehicle stalls when you apply the brakes. Driving the highway is fine. When you stop at a light it stalls. If you apply the brakes slowly it seems not to stall. Any suggestions?

Check the vacuun hose to the brake booster and the booster itself for vacuum leaks
