Is there anything that has to be reset for it to crank?

Welcome to 2CarPros.

Nothing as far as a reset for cranking. Have you checked to see if there is power to the starter? Have you checked grounds to the engine block?

Take a look through this link. It explains how to test the starter for power. Do this and let me know what you find. Also, reconfirm that the ground from the battery to the engine block is clean and tight.

Let me know what you find.
