Engine races, but no motion is transferred in any of the five gears or reverse

It sounds like your clutch has gone out. There is a pressure plate, clutch disc, and throw-out bearing that has possibly failed. The transmission has to be removed to gain access to the clutch for inspection/replacement. I have attached a tutorial showing what is involved. Hope this helps and feel free to ask any questions.
