When I start it the motor idles low and rough and when I give it gas it bogs way out and barley runs. I changed plugs they were awful, but it didn't help.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

If the check engine light staying on when the engine runs? If it does, you first need to scan the computer to identify diagnostic trouble codes. Here is a quick video that shows how that is done:

I realize most people don't own a scanner. However, often times a parts store will do it for free. If the car is safe enough to drive, that is what I would suggest.

Now, the description you gave can be many different things. For example, low fuel pressure, a major engine vacuum leak, a plugged catalytic converter and the list goes on.

Take a look through this link:

Now, what I would suggest is checking fuel pump pressure, check for a vacuum leak, and check for a plugged catalytic converter. I will provide links to help you through these tests.

Let me know if this helps. Also, if you have found diagnostic trouble codes, let me know what they are because it will eliminate a lot of testing. I will be able to focus on once specific components.

Take care,
Joe
