Name is Steve, had new computer put in car new charcoal canister put in and new catalytic converter. After driving for a couple days check gas cap piped up that went off next day engine light came on codes said check gas cap and low purge. Not sure what’s going on bringing back to mechanic tomorrow. Emissions are a pain, passed smog last year with no problems. Thanks, Steve

Hello,

What was the Direct Trouble Code (DTC) or "code" that was pulled when the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) or "check engine" light illuminated?

Thanks,
Alex

Hello again,

Okay. The reason I asked is because I just wanted to make sure of the DTC number so I didn't give you the wrong information. In the diagrams down below I have included a factory troubleshooting flowchart for you to go through that will pinpoint the problem. You will need a vacuum pump with a vacuum gauge attached to do the diagnostic tests, but having said that, they are fairly easy and straight forward. Please go through the guide and get back to us with what you are able to find out.

Thanks,
Alex
