My driver door lock rod will not actuate when used by the FOB or the door switch. All other 4 doors respond when commanded by FOB and door switch.

The key is able to actuate the door lock manually, but that is the only way. I threw an actuator on there, without any change.

I took the rear door panel loose and plugged the replacement actuator into that connector and the actuator is functional.

I was unable to locate any wiring diagrams online (that helped) at this point and I didnt find the fuse panel "legends" helpful.

I did only start messing with this issue this morning, so any help is appreciated.

Good afternoon,

The door lock switch and the fob send a signal to the body control module. The body control module actually controls the notion.

You need an advanced scan tool to see if the signal is being sent from the switch to the BCM and if the BCM is commanding the lock open and closed.

Greetings, thank you for the insight and the additional schematics.

After taking the truck to a repair shop, there was an intermittent break in the harness between the door and the module.

The pass through conduit for the harness to the door can be wiggled while actuating the door lock switch and the driver door lock would actuate properly.

So the tech traced the appropriate wire and did a basic wire repair where the break was at.
I did read in a forum where another guy had this issue and the dealership found a broken wire in the harness as well somewhere in the foot-well.

Any idea if this is a pattern of failure on this application/truck year? Any TSB's?

Thanks again for the help on this issue and I look forward to using this website again.

Respectfully, Art F.

Very common failure for the wires to fail at the pass through.

I have done many of them over the years. There have been TSB about the issue but all they tell us is to replace the harness.

TSB are repair ideas, not recalls. There were not any recalls as this is not a safety issue.
