Okay. I thought that I attached that part. So, it is hard to understand what you are looking at as I am not sure what you are seeing as "releasing the door"

Can you get a picture of these parts that you are looking for and I will see if I can find part numbers? Thanks

I took the van to a shop finely and they couldn't solve the vans issue. So now when I hit the button to close the door instead of the one click and not releasing to close, it has gotten worse. Now it's like multiple clicks and grinding sound at the same time.

It turns out that part I sent you just keeps the door from closing on its own and when the door lock motor assembly stops working that part will not release because it has to go through steps and if one of them doesn't work, they all don't. Does that sound about right?

Okay. Again, I suspect you have a motor issue. That grinding noise that you are hearing is the motor trying to move the door, but it doesn't move.

I understand you may want more proof and I don't blame you, but I am not sure I am going to be able to give you that proof without the scan tool to monitor what I stated earlier.

At this point, all I can tell you is what I would do and that is replace the motor.

The motor in the door can I take the panel off the door and is there some way to check it using a test light or multimeter? I know I'm being aggravating. I just don't have much money to spend, so I'm just trying to figure out how to test every part that could fail manually.

I understand. There is not a way to check this manually because if you use a test light then you are just finding out if there is power getting to the motor.

However, you already know that it is because you can hear it engaging. The problem is, it is not moving the door and the grinding that you hear is the motor gear slipping in the track.

So, if you want to do more testing, remove the door panel and lay inside the vehicle and watch the operation of the track and motor and I am sure you will see it slipping.

This means you need to remove the motor and inspect the track and gear to see which is worn and normally it is the motor.

I think I was confusing us both. I was typing so fast and trying to respond. I got what I was videoing and typing wrong. Let me try and start over. The sliding door would close fully and lock if I pulled the handle, but once I hit the open button it would try to release but the front door latch was getting stuck somehow. It just started doing that and if I try to move it by hand without depressing the handle it wouldn't move unless I manually release the latch to move. Then once I hit the button the motor would move the door all the way open until it clicked and stayed open. Then once I hit the button to close it the part, I sent with the picture it the release piece wouldn't unlock, so the door motor could move the door to close it. It's some kind of safety latch to keep the door from closing on itself and I think I was saying it wrong this whole time which kept you confused on what I was trying to explain I can't explain things good.

Okay. I understand. However, I don't think my opinion is going to change. Based on what I have seen, I would do as I have been suggesting so let us know how this turns out after you make your decision.

Thanks
