While turning while 4x4 engaged (which is always hard )I made my turn and heard a loud snap from the passenger side wheel apon inspection could not see the damage that I know exists it makes a grinding noise in motion metal on metal sound Im trying to gage the extent of damage it is being serviced after the weekend Im guessing it has to do with the connection to 4 wheel as the turning radius is so limited and it was raining before it snapped

Hello,

Do you hear the grinding noise if you disconnect the 4x4?
If the grinding noise goes away then the issue is with the front shaft.

You could have a drivetrain binding on the front and that possibly snapped a component internally.
It is likely that you will have to remove the front propeller shaft to find the damage.

I have included the basic inspection and diagnostic procedure for noise and vibration for the drive shaft.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
