1998 Dodge Neon No compression in @1 cylinder

There is no compression in @1 cylinder all the rest of them have around 170 pounds. I don't see no mix of fluid's from head gasket how would I know for sure where the compression loss is going?

Squit a small amount of oil into the cylinder and retest, if reading improves, its rings, if not it's valves, you may have a stuck or burned valve, which is more likley than not!

Merlin2021 Thank's for your input . I did that and no boost in compression. There was look's like oil in antifreez.I should of checked that first. But oil is clean I think. Car overheated about a month ago IM thinking head gasket hope it's not a worped head?What do you guy's think next?

If you have oil in the antifreeze, it's time to remove the head and send it to the machine shop to be checked and valves grinded.

Merlin2021 I strarted tear down already run into a snag. Takeing throttle body off there is two plugs on it. I can't see how they unplug it dont say in the hanyes book any ideas it dont come out far enough to see dont want to break them?

If you follow the wires, you should come to the connectors, on one of the flat sides, push down on the tab and pull apart. One the the throttle position sensor, and the other is the idle air control motor/valve.

Merlin2021 Thanks for all your help got the wires off. Then pulled the throttle body off Guess whats laying in the intake manifold?ABOUT 2 INCHES of motor oil. Man I was ticked off. Packed up my tools im scraping the car good riddions. But thank's aging for your help you guys are great,
