I just bought a 99 intrepid and I have read numerous things with people who have the same problems. Every time I stop and press on the break the oil light comes on and flickers. Also the car has started and then shut off on me a few times and when I check the oil it is low I will add oil then a few days later the oil is low again. Also I filled up over full with gas and I went abou 45 miles and the gas went down to under a half a tank. It blows smoke out of the tail pipe like crazy. And when I brought it back to the people who sold it to me they just say it doesnt look like anythings wrong to me and keep sending me away. I have a feeling this car is a lemon.

Dylan, most cars are lemons whether they have problems like yours or not. The body is in good condition and if you need a rebuild or reman engine, it will have all the refinements and improvements the engineers have made for the 2.7L. All these motors were problematic. It needs to be driven and the leak needs fixing. If its totally blue smoke, get a lawyer or tell them you want another car, and you'll see that many cars have some kind of trouble also. Good luck, if you don't like the car, don't feel bad about telling the selling dealer as many 2.7's had problems, and many were very good.
