1998 Dodge Intrepid

I have a friend that has a 1998 Dodge intreped and she says that it stops running on its own sometimes. Idles fine but uses oil really bad. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks JC

The Intrepid is no better or worse then any other older fuel injected full size American made car. It may have an oil leak somewhere and the leak may be saturating a wire or sensor causing a problem. The fuel pump or other sensor may be going bad. It has a connector under the area by the steering column, a computer plugs in and reads all the sensors for any problems or stored fault codes to help a technician determine what is failing. It may just need a tune-up with fuel filter. Read about the fault codes here under "how does it work". Thank 2carpros and all the great technicians who work here for helping you by being here and giving you this information and making their services available. And good luck with your lady friend also.
