My Mom's 1998 Dodge Intrepid won't always turnover. It happens randomly, wet, dry, hot cold, etc. When she turns the ignition the dashboard lights come on, but nothing else happens.
She has waited and tried again and sometimes it starts.
She has it at her mechanic now, any ideas on loose connections, bad relays, interlocks or other things that mght fit these symptons?
Thanks

It could be a relay, starter. If you still had it I could have you check some things, but if it is at the mechanic, I can't. When they tell you what is wrong, let me know and I'll tell you if it sounds logical.

They could not find anything, so they gave it back. I told her to try to start the car in neutral the next time it happens.
Other checks?

Yes, if it doesn't start in neutral, have a helper turn the key to the start position and check to see if there is 12 volts of power going to the smaller wire on the starter. There should be when the key is in the start position.
