Electrical problem
2000 Dodge Dakota V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My 2000 Dodge Dakota passenger headlight went out, Replaced it, new one is very dim ( appears to not be grounded). Test light shows bright lite to one of the three wires and a dim lite to another when on and in normal position, tested the same wires with bulb removed and the dim lite (wire) was no longer lit. Grounded that wire and the light worked Perfect (normal and brights) except the lights NOW would not shut off, tried grounding the other wires with the same results. Body grounds are good and battery grounds are good! Also all fuses are good! Any Ideas? Cant afford shop fees.
Thanks

Hi, and thanks for the quick help! I checked the headlamp, dimmer switch and also the pull-out fog lamp switch and they all work fine, and all three grounds are okay, also I pulled the side kick panels and checked the body grounds on each side, and they are okay I also went back and double checked the continuity between the wire and the bulb socket prongs also okay! Anything else I can check myself?
