1998 Dodge Dakota broke down no clue why

Ok a week ago my dodge dakota broke down while I was driving down the road I pushed it back up to my work I had a bunch of people look at it everyone decided it was the fuel pump so I replaced it today and it still isnt running it will start for a couple seconds if I spray starter fluid in the carborater but other than that it acts like it wants to start but it doesnt im lost and dont know what to do

If it does start when you spray it I would suspect a fuel issue
and would check for fuel pressure
no pressure with new pump in check for power and for ground
check fuse and relays
you have fuel pressure check for injector pulse
