I have a punture hole in the bottom of my gas tank. The puncture is "v" shaped, with the bottom of the "v" being where the hole is. The actual hole is about the size of a pencil. Can I use JB Weld to repair the hole, just long enough to drive the car to have the tank replaced? It appears the tank is made of a plastic, and I don't know if it is one that JB Weld lists that their product won't work on.

Hi mary
if the tank is empty it will be ok to jb weld until you can drive to repair shop.

After you use jb weld and let the car set for 24 hrs. Once you put gas in the tank look at the leak and see if it is leaking. Unfortuneately it is dangerous to drive any car with any fuel leak.

I would advise for your safety a tow truck to take your car for repairs. Ty billymac
