Mechanic installed fuel pump and informed me, that he could not get any spark to pump. He did not have the schematics for this vehicle. Car is stilll at station and suggests that I have it towed to the dealer. I bought the pump myself, and he installed it. A freelance mechanic says he can run a bypass line from pump to relay to troubleshoot. Says it could be the computer. This all started when my vehicle stalled out while crossing a toll bridge. I kept trying to start it, but all it would do is crank and almost start. Had car towed to station and mechanic called and informed me that the fuel pump was burnt out. So this is where I stand, HELP!

Hi:
Did you have the mechanic check to see if the new pump is good? Sometimes, the new pump is no good and needs to be replaced. Also, the mechanic could check the wiring to see if the is even getting power. If it is, then the pump is bad. If there is no power, it needs to be traced back until power is found.

Let me know what he says.
Joe
