I am having the same exact problem with my 1996 Cherokee. Replaced the headlight switch and didn’t work. What fuse was it?

There never was an explanation of the fuse number.

As we said, that is why you check for voltage at fuses and not ohms. That is the correct way to test fuses.

I haven’t checked any fuses yet. Just wanted to know so I didn’t have to check them all.

Use your test light and check for power on both sides of the fuses with the key on.

It should take you about 10 minutes.

It was a blown fuse under the dash. Had no idea it could even be a fuse because it still had power to the sweet spot.

Yes, that is correct. Some fuse break right where the pin plugs into the fuse block. You will still show voltage in the test area above the fuse.

You need to do both a visual and a voltage test to check them.
