Sounds like the pump has failed. 10-12 lbs is no good.

Replace the pump.

REMOVAL

WARNING:
- Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited, resulting in possible personal injury.
- Fuel in the fuel system remains under high pressure even when the engine is not running. Before repairing or disconnecting any of the fuel lines or fuel system components, the fuel system pressure must be relieved to prevent accidental spraying of fuel, causing personal injury or a fire hazard.

1. With vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Release the fuel system pressure.
3. Drain the fuel tank.

Okay. But why works great, then doesn't? I always thought it would have quit completely by now.
Do these have any probability?
EVAP vent valve
MAP
EVAP purge valve
Fuel tank pressure transducer sensor
incorrect fuel tank venting, evap?
Fuel pump driver module
Fuel pressure sensor
Just want to eliminate anything else before I buy $500.00 fuel pump.
Thank you for quick response!

The fact the pump works but puts out low pressure tells me it is the pump. None of the other items have any effect except the driver module. The fact the pump works tells me the module is passing current to the pump.

$500.00? That is way overpriced.

Thank you! Now more comfortable. How can the pump fail and then work so good? A bad valve inside? The pump is an assembly. Your pic shows just the pump. Didn't know you could buy separately. And would that be reliable to do? Want this truck to be trustworthy again.

The motor itself internally is the issue. It can work one minute and not work the next.

Okay. Since it is a 2004 with 26,000, does the sitting cause early pump failure?
Thank you! Will keep you posted after fuel pump is changed.
