Good day guys, my car cranks but will not start. Also, it shut off on me a couple of times on the highway and would not start until a significant amount of time had passed. I changed the distributor and plug wires on it and the problem is still there. Can I get some assistance on what could be the problem please?

Is this a carburetor or injected engine model?

Check for codes, now remember that not all codes will set a check light, have you been able to re test for spark when it fails, you may have an ignition module over heating and shutting down.

Probably a failed ignition module, it is internal of the of the distributor. So a second hand distributor should be a quick fix.
