I have to hold pedal to floor and hold the starter over before it will start. When it finally does I get flood smoke. I know it's not good on the starter at all. But I have a coolant leak at the pump maybe it's got on the CPS?

Good evening,

Once it starts does it run okay?

I would start with a compression test to be sure the engine timing is correct. You could have low compression.

Flooding could come from an injector allowing too much fuel so I would also check the fuel pressure.
