Coolant temperature sensor (ECT) and engine temperature sensor location

I'm having trouble locating these 2 sensors and I'm having trouble locating the cooling temperature sensor and engine temperature sensor. Please can I get Info on location and good picture so I can see where it?

Good morning,

The coolant sensor for the motor and the sensor for temperature work off the same sensor. I posted below the location for you.

The Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor is located on top right hand rear of the engine.

I also attached pictures of the location.

Why are you replacing the sensor? Is there a code or a cooling system issue?

Yes, thank you for your help. I did find the this sensor location. Long story to explain right now I'm working on for a bit I do have some questions although bit I'll. I am going to send you pic of the is sensor with now and I am now lost. As I thought I knew what it was for, but now I'm not sure if so maybe you can help me out here what it's for?

Alright I found the sensor that you pointed out for me and I went to go change it out although it did snapped out but I carefully got the rest of it out and then Um although there was a slight difference in them from the old one to the new 1 the 1 that looked like it would the should be it was not the the correct electrical of connection and the 1 it did look like it wasn't gonna be was with the correct electoral connection. Um I changed out anyways I got some loctite thread locker blue But I'm not so sure about that stuff Is in kind of running to me and I said it has a 24 hour cure time so I get last night and come back this afternoon I'm not so sure about that stuff and if so then I decide to take some of that "the right stuff" And put it around the outside I'm not sure if that was a good idea so I'm didn't put anything back together yet . I'm waiting for response I am going to send pictures of all this. I'm also curious about the the level sensor and the reservoir I got Extra one few month back at Salvage yard. Although one look slightly different from the other non not sure which 1 I should put in a there. I wanna take the one that some fun with life I work in is there a way I can test to see how they were and I don't have a multimedia or so is there way a can test it though I sent some pictures of that. Also sent pictures of my reservoir and sprayed it out I think it it looks good enough to me but do you think it is okay?I'm just trying to have it all but back together and done all good the right way. You asked why I started all these repairs while the repair started months back. My car was ran over the front in while it was part by a neighbor they had a super duty p/u truck big truck they didn't turn wide and he ran over the front from there I fixed the front and drove it to 2nd time I drove it overheated and that was because I had to loose bolts every once In awhile I had to go tighten up the bolts on the transmission pan well I'd lost a bolt so it overheated got it home to house and come to a conclusion that I should go ahead and replace my gasket filter in O ring time and I put new transmission fluid in got it all done in well I figured out that whatever idiot before me I had guessed replaced to as a bolt and they were not the same they were close but not quite fitting that to I would have that problem got it all fixed started it up and come to realize it was problem with the overheating still come to realize it further inspect need to replace my bottom radiator hose Because it was warped and starting to crack with the slightly coolant leak which made me check all the hoses and I decided that I need to change my upper hose that connects from the thermostat housing to the a engine I have 2 upper hoses being that I have a 4.6 engine and the bottom radiator hose Decided that I also would change out the thermostat when I did all this and put it all back together I made a mistake that I now realize cause I the only filled it up from the reservoir I did not bypassed and fill through the hose fill up the c cooling system completely. The 1st time I did I'd already had the engine cooling temperature sensor and coolant temperature sensor whatever I had to I bought them sensors back Then but skip putting Them in was in hurry get the car back together. I was recently was told to check a make sure had the Thermostat in correctly. I'm gonna check but I believe that it's And the correct way So I decided is drain the whole system again anyways plus I thought with more safe for me being that I have never done any of this before ever. I am a woman with a challenge Doing all this by myself. But further my own investigation into the situation I have figured out answer to my problem was way I filled up to car with the coolant back I need to do it again and I thought this time I would not a skip changing out that sensor in it they has to be drained when you change it out anyways which I was not aware of the 1st time. I can a send pictures of all this. I think I will throw in a picture of Before & After when the car got ran over I fixed front end and did it all myself. I hope I am doing this all right Like I said I never done any of this before ever. Google YouTube have been my teachers. Well except I did spend a long time with my ex on a med heavy-duty tow truck. Learned a few things there. So what do you think Does it sound like I'm on the right path. I'm only had money for the repairs parts.I just don't have the money to have someone fix it for me so I'm having to do it myself.

Okay, got it all.

The sealer you used on the outside will not work.

The thread lock will prevent this from ever coming out again. Not a good idea to use but what is done is done.

I would pressure test the system to be sure you have no leaks.

Particular thread lock I use said that it removable by a tool. Is this is still a bad idea? I've maybe I can go and get it out before it's completely permanent. And if so what should I use to put on it?

Did you pressure test the system?

Did you run it and let it get hot and if the system works correctly?

That thread sealer is one of the toughest. Hopefully it will not have to be removed.

No, I have not because I've not put it back together yet because I want make sure that I if I need to take that out and redo it let me know because it probably might not be too late and I'll redo it the right way. If I do that what is the proper stuff to put on there and do you think it that sensor it's will work you know being slightly different do you think that's an aftermarket part are or do you think I got the wrong part? Please reference back to all the photos I showed you.

The sensor looks good. The other one has a different connection.

It has set by now so let it be.

You can rent a tester at a parts store.

Yeah, I'm just trying to figure out what where that goes in the car because of means is says it's compatible to my car. When I bought it and I thought that out with actually is a coolant temperature sensor and the one that I put in the car today I thought that was the engine temperature sensor. The one with the flat head.

Perhaps I can help you understand something I'm trying to figure out where the unknown sensor where that goes because if it's another sensor where I must drain the system out well I have the system drained out right now. So it's better for me to do it now then later.

It was a good call from the looks of the connector.

There are so many sensors that in order for me to identify it, I need the part number and brand of the sensor.

That is a cylinder head temperature sensor.

That does not control fuel mapping. It is a sensor that when the engine gets too hot, it will trigger a warning of overheating.
