I saw your answer to the same problem from a post back in 2010. You seem to have nailed the answer and it sounds like it really might just be a vacuum leak issue because it was working fine then the problem returned and seems to if I select defrost on my windshield then it appears to return to stuck on constant heat after that. Would you give me some more detailed information on how to approach fixing this myself? Where might the vacuum leak be located? Where is the blend door located?

Hello,

Okay, so in the diagrams down below I have included what the vehicle manufacturer has in place for this condition. It is a diagnostic pinpoint test to track down your vehicle's problem, and believe it or not, it's electrical. ou will be required to us a Digital Multi-Meter (DMM), so here is a link if you are unfamiliar with using one:

I have also included wiring diagrams for your vehicle's Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning(HVAC) systems as well. Please go through these guides and get back to us with how everything turns out.

Thanks,
Alex

Thank you for responding Alex. I actually figured out the problem just before reading your response. The blend door hinge is the single culprit in this case. I tested the actuator by removing it and plugging it back in to the wire connector and it all works fine. I managed to cut a triangular hole underneath the plastic chamber where the blend door swings and manually moving it into the A/C position and then pinning it there temporarily. Looks like I simply need to replace the blend door itself for complete repair. Any suggestions on where to get replacement?

Hello,

This will be a dealer or wrecking yard part. You might be able to repair the part. Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so we can see what's going on? That would be great. You can upload it here with your response. Then I can see if it can be fixed.
