Lol, am hoping it takes care of it, because all the numbers are okay as far as volts, and all am getting is that MAP sensor code all day long, even without starting the car and after the battery has been disconnected, and it's a common issue with these cars based on what I read. It better be the PCM. Crossing fingers.

I'm confident that is the problem. If you have a chance, let me know if it takes care of the issue.

Take care,

So I send it to Dodge dealership to make sure this is what the problem is. They called me and saying we started to go into the diagnosis and we think it's in the harness but we can't get into this type of problems so they gave up on diagnosing it. Geeez.

Even though I also believe it's the PCM they are expensive and hard to find for a 1.4l, many of then need programming only few are plug and play. So I wanted to make sure as you know it is difficult for you diagnosing this kind of stuff online but we did all the diagnosing you mentioned and all point towards the PCM.

Can you tell me who this is intended for and who is able to do it or how using what methods? Seems like this is the issue since it only applied to 13 models with manual transmission. All those programmed PCM sellers only have them for the 2. 0 and 2.4. Only for some reason, only ones available are online which are used and must be programmed but could also be bad as well.

Naser,

I can't believe the dealer walked away. Ugh!

What you have above is a help site which is provided by a magazine. The directions are accurate but require witech1 equipment which will have the software to communicate with all can modules and reprogram.

I told the dealer I can't believe you turning it down, who else is supposed to fix it? This is one reason why I wont be buying anymore. Am going to play with it more. He saw that the plastic around the harness was cut and wires exposed he got scared of working in it. He said it might be the harness. I said you didn't diagnose it how are going to tell me it may be the harness?

Naser,

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by gate. What harness has been cut and spliced?

No harness was cut. I just cut the plastic protector round the harness of the PCM when I was checking the wires, and I think they thought someone spliced it or patched it. The turbo waste gate.

Naser, the only thing I have is wastegate solenoid removal and replacement.

I attached a pic of the solenoid below which should be mounted to the timing cover. Number 1 (wastegate hoses) number 2 (vacuum supply).

That's all I have related to the wastegate. Make sure there aren't any vacuum leaks.

Naser,

It's all about cost. We just got the Snap-on Apollo D8. It's a great tool but it doesn't reprogram things like a PCM. When we need such software, it's sent to a dealer that has everything. This scanner is great for just about everything else. It was just under $4,000.00 on the truck. Ugh!

I don't mind investing. There are tons of scanners where y can program anything I just hate subscriptions. Plus the dealership didn't want to deal with my car so I don't want to waste $900.00 before I make sure or I wanted to take the chance on a used one and invest in a scanner at the same time you know.
