I took my vehicle out, moving slowly and it was running hot (radiator is a mess). The clutch pedal just sudden became soft, lost all pressure and did not seem to disengage the clutch when depressed. (It was still bouncing back though).

Since then the clutch pedal seems to work, but after maybe one or two minutes goes completely soft again. Clutch fluid and brake fluid levels have not dropped

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

Based on your description, it sounds like either the clutch master cylinder or the slave cylinder is going bad. Take a look at this link. It discusses common issues with this type of problem.

If you find there is no fluid loss, chances are the clutch master cylinder is the issue.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,
Joe

Thank you for replying! Is it possible that the master cylinder is going even if there is not loss of fluid?

Could it also be the slave?

Hi.

Yes that is possible. There is a piston inside the unit which moves fluid when you press the clutch. If the fluid is bypassing the piston and seal, you will get a soft pedal or no pedal and honestly, no fluid has to be lost.
