Since I purchased my car I have been very ritual in keeping it up to date in maintanance. My last visit to the mechanic I was told that my car needs a timing belt and that it is also time to replace the back struts. I do not notice the car pulling or dragging in any directions. I also noticied that the lights dim and light up as if nothing every hapened. What seems to be the problem. Thank you for your time and hope to hear from you soon.

You can go up to 100K miles before timing belt requires replacement, but I wouldn't wait if you can do it sooner. I have seen so many vehicles with engine damage that could have been prevented, but most drivers simply said that they have forgotten or never got around to replace the belt. I do recommend replacing the belt before it is due.

You won't feel any dragging/pulling from damaged struts. But if you feel the car bounces more than once every time you hit a bump, then it is time to replace the struts. Strut replacement is recommended at 60K.
