I have a 1995 chrysler sebring and it has been running great, til the other day I was just driving down the road, and it just quit. Then I tryed to start it and it turns over but will not run. It is not getting any spark, I put a new rotary button and distributor cap on, but same, thing, it turns over but will not run. Any possible answers or troubleshooting methods will be greatly appreciated. And since I am not too car savy, but am anxious to become more mechanically inclined, the more details you can give step by step, would be very helpful. Thanks.

It's possible the fuel pump went out. To check turn the key to the on position without starting. Do you hear the fuel pump? It's a high pitch whine that last only a few seconds. If so make sure there is fuel in the tank. Sometimes if the fuel sending unit goes bad, it will give the gauge a false reading, leading you to believe there's fuel in the tank when actually it's empty. If you don't hear the sound then tap on the fuel tank with a hammer while someone else tries to start it. If it starts replace the fuel pump. If not you'll need to check for current to the pump and check for a possible bad relay. Try these steps first.

Mine did the same thing and it was my distributor. I replaced it, and it started up like new. I was getting no spark whatsoever.
