1990 Chevy Truck V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 1990 chevy1500 4x4 V8 5.7L half ton automatic. The truck was ramped and all tore up when I bought it a week ago. The front end is all messed up axle housing is broke pretty bad along with many other broken pieces.
I found a 1992 chevy 1500 4x4 V6 standard half ton at a friends junk yard and can get the front end pretty cheap.
What my question is, is can I swap the font end out of the V6 chevy into my V8 chevy

A long as everything measures up ok and the gear ratios are the same. If it has the the wrong gear ratio then it wil give your transfer case windup and will be very very hard to shift ourt of 4 wheel drive and can hurt things as well.
