4 wheel will go into 4 wheel but wont engage the.

4 wheel will go into 4 wheel but wont engage the tires, changed actuator and it still wont work, recently had issues with front end after new tires and front end alignment, the pittman arm was changed, could this be reason why the truck wont go into 4 wheel? You can hear the drive shaft engaging but the tires wont lock into 4 wheel, it is a manual 4 wheel, no locking hubs.

I would inspect the hubs first

pitman has nothing to do with the issue

Hubby says the truck doesnt have hubs, the 4 wheel will go in but axels are not locking in when engaged, how do you test to see if the actuator is getting power?

With a test light

when the axles turn, are they engaging the wheels.

It does have hubs but they are automatic

Roy, he said when the axles turn, they are engaging the wheels, someone suggested checking the transfer case switch, he had changed the actuator but not the switch, seems to be a easy fix it thats it, hoping it is, this old plow truck has been nickel and diming us to death.
